The Dioscuri
The value of this land was recognised by men and gods alike. Zeus himself assigned to his two sons the protection of Krokees, and of all the wonders that happened and were made there. Castor and Pollux, twin half-brothers, symbols of honesty, valour and bravery.
Brothers to two queens, with close ties to Fate: Clytemnestra, wife of king Agamemnon, and Helen of Troy, for whom the Achaeans overran the unconquerable walls of Troy. Mythical kings, all of them, protagonists in stories global in scope, sung by Homer.
The tireless Dioscuri have been protecting Krokees right to this day.
